Healing Little Hurting Hearts.

A ministry that brings hope to grieving children through energetic camp-like settings.

Has grief stolen a piece of your heart?

If you’ve lost someone significant in your life, then you know what it’s like to carry the daily burden and loneliness of grief. No one—especially a child—should have to experience this kind of deep hurt alone.

We feel what you feel. That’s why for the past 22 years we have been working to bring healing and hope to little hurting hearts in unique, camp-like settings.

The Transforming Power Of Camp

Over the years, we have discovered the power of blending therapeutic activities with high-energy camp fun. Carefully sequenced activities allow children who have been affected by cases of suicide, murder, drunk driving, drug overdoses (and sadly more) have permission to feel free to play and laugh again.

Any willing person who has experienced loss can easily volunteer to be trained to help these children. During this time, you will meet and serve with others that understand you, and together we will experience and witness the miracles of healing hurting hearts.

Transforming lives. That’s the power of camp.

Be a part of healing little hurting hearts.

What People Say About Camp Agape

I had reservations about becoming a volunteer? This was out of my comfort zone. I really didn’t think I was equipped for the challenge. But my experience was nothing like I expected. The training was excellent and there were other veteran men there that supported me. I felt prepared by the time I met my camper and my confidence on the last day had increased tremendously.

The experience helped my own grief journey. Six years later and I’m still volunteering!

Joe Vogel

Retiree

I was a camper at Camp Agape. The camp helped me cope with my grief as a kid and I felt it in my heart to give back and be a volunteer buddy.

I knew my story of a hard loss could help another child just like the volunteer Buddy that helped me as a kid. But the camp doesn’t just help the kids. God continues to use
the volunteer experience to heal my hurts each time I chose to experience camp with a new child I’ll be signing up to volunteer again and again.

Cooper Burgess

Former Camper - Current Volunteer

I had two big challenges to overcome before volunteering; first, making the time in my busy schedule, and second, overcoming my fear of not knowing if I was equipped to help a child. But I’m glad I said, “yes.”

Camp Agape trained and supported me through the whole process. I will have to say the experience made me feel like my grief had a purpose. It was absolutely worth finding the time in my schedule to stop and help a child. And it helped me too.
